Ile des Pins

New Caledonia is a French Paradise in the South Pacific. It is in fact one of the closest neighbours to New Zealand, just three hours flight from Auckland.

This year, New Caledonia is putting a special emphasis on great food and gastronomy to differentiate it from the other Pacific Islands. Beautiful produce, great fusion of cuisine and amazing backdrops to enjoy.

Culinary experiences are a great motivator in travel. In New Caledonia, there are lots of very unique Caledonian food experiences. You’re sure to be impressed!

Start the day with freshly baked croissants and cafe-au lait in a French style Café at the Noumea markets, eat snails on the Isle of Pines or a bush barbecue with the French cowboys (local stockmen) for lunch, then share the traditional ‘bougna’ with the local tribe in the North or enjoy a freshly caught fish grilled on a white sand beach on the Loyalty Islands for dinner ….. all to bring those stories to life.

You can enjoy an amazing blend of French and Pacific cuisine, less than 3 hours from home, whilst taking in some of the most beautiful views. (largest lagoon in the world, UNESCO Heritage site, a variety of regions with very distinctive landscape.)
