… Pak n Save. Consumer NZ has just completed their annual survey of the cheapest supermarket in New Zealand and for the 11th year in a row, Pak n Save takes the award.

Lower Hutt’s Pak ‘N Save is the cheapest supermarket nationwide, according to Consumer New Zealand.

Each year Consumer sends mystery shoppers to supermarkets the length and breadth of the country to buy a list of 40 items – including bread, milk, butter and cat food.

The order came in at $116 at Pak ‘N Save in Lower Hutt – $30 less than the most expensive supermarket in the survey, Foodtown in Pakuranga, Auckland.

It was the 11th year in a row Pak ‘N Save had taken the title.
