The search is on for one of our most famous young adventurers: The Milkybar Kid.
It has been several years since the badge of the MILKYBAR Kid has been worn, so there are some very big boots to fill. The chosen child will star in the new 2011 MILKYBAR television commercial, and no doubt become one of New Zealand’s cutest celebrities! It’s a one-of-a-kind chance to be part of one of New Zealand’s most iconic television campaigns.
In the past, the MILKYBAR Kid has traditionally been a boy with blond hair, but this time the search is different. We are inviting parents and guardians of boys or girls who are aged between seven and ten years old to send in an audition of their child. The child just needs to possess a sense of fun and daring, and of course, love the yumminess of Nestle MILKYBAR.
“There’s no preconceived idea of what the next MILKYBAR Kid is going to look like,” says casting director Suzanne McAleer, who will be part of the judging panel. “We’re just looking for a vibrant, engaging child with star quality.”
Parents and guardians of enthusiastic children are invited to visit the MILKYBAR website to download the audition script then upload the audition video of their child anytime between 9 August and 19 September 2010. Children who are selected as Semi-Finalists will then be invited to attend a casting call in Auckland or Wellington, when the Top Ten Finalists will be chosen. The public can then see the Finalists on Good Morning, in magazines, and on the MILKYBAR website, and vote for the Finalist they think would be the best New Zealand MILKYBAR Kid. A panel of judges will pick the ultimate winner, who will be revealed on 19 November 2010.
