Anathoth, New Zealand`s best selling premium jam, has launched two new yummy flavours in response to a nationwide competition.
Listening to customers is important to Anathoth so last year they ran a competition asking for new flavour suggestions from customers and staff. It probably wasn`t surprising that the kiwi favourite rhubarb was a popular flavour suggestion.
The winning flavour, Rhubarb & Red Berry jam, plus exciting new Cherry Berry jam are now on shelf in your local supermarket and taste simply superb.
The two winners, Emily Fountain and Steve Ingle – both fellow South Islanders, suggested rhubarb and strawberry jam. The jam makers decided to tweak their entry slightly by adding a touch of raspberry, since its New Zealand`s favourite jam flavour. For their efforts Emily and Steve won an abundant supply of jam for their friends and families as well as seeing their winning flavour on supermarket shelves nationwide.
After 22 years Anathoth`s promise to tell you where the fruit comes from continues. Naturally the rhubarb for their latest creation is grown in New Zealand, and to create the unique flavour of Cherry Berry, sour European cherries are sourced and blended with New Zealand boysenberries and redcurrants.
Anathoth still uses the traditional recipe of half fruit and sugar, boiled until it sets – the same recipe found in home cookery books and used by our Mothers and Grandmothers. With no additives, Anathoth jam really does taste just like homemade.
Its early days, but these two new and unique flavours are irresistible and flying off the shelf. To celebrate Anathoth has developed some supreme recipes so jam can be enjoyed beyond the breakfast table. Anathoth Cherry Berry and Rhubarb & Red Berry will become your family`s new favourite. You simply must try them.
Anathoth jam is available from all supermarkets, RRP $4.60. Check out Anathoth for more recipe suggestions.
