Hawkes Bay enjoyed a cool summer and a settled autumn with low rainfall, and the grapes for this 77:23 Sauvignon Blanc/Pinot Gris blend were picked in late April at optimum ripeness.

Monkey Bay wines take their name from a bay on the coast of Marlborough, where,
according to legend, a monkey lived in the late 19th century.

Hawke’s Bay enjoyed a coolish summer, and a settled autumn with low rainfall.
Picked in April at optimum ripeness, the grapes were crushed and de-stemmed, then direct pressed with no skin contact. The clarified juice was fermented at cool temperature using selected yeast strains, and the wine was racked off yeast lees
directly after primary fermentation.
