It’s a cruel fact of winter that even though the chilly months see us eating more, we’re not necessarily getting the right nutrients our bodies need to avoid becoming run down.

It’s a cruel fact of winter that even though the chilly months see us eating more, we’re not necessarily getting the right nutrients our bodies need to avoid becoming run down. I noticed wee cracks at the corners on my mouth recently and I know from past experience that’s a sure-fire sign that I am not getting enough vitamin B.

Whole grains, such as brown rice and oats are an excellent source of vitamin B and are also excellent winter warmers.

There are loads of other foods that offer natural supplies of vitamin B too and these include:

  • fish and seafood
  • poultry and meats
  • eggs
  • leafy green vegetable and beans and peas
  • dariy products such as milk and yogurt
