For decades, nuts have been essential eating at Christmas. However, until recently, the selection of premium mixed nuts has been limited in New Zealand, with either raw nuts or the usual dry-roasted, salted and honey-roasted varieties being the most common options on the shelves.

This has all changed with the Alexandra’s gourmet O’Nuts range. There are currently two flavours, O’Nuts Raving Cajun and O’Nuts Raving Roast, both perfect for parties and sharing over Christmas and summertime. Raving Cajun, a blend of almonds, pumpkin seeds and crunchy-coated peanuts is flavoured with real smoked chili and New Zealand sea salt. Raving Roast is a blend of almonds, pumpkin seeds and Alexandra’s special coated peanuts dry roasted and dusted with New Zealand sea salt.

“We couldn’t find a nut mix in New Zealand that delivered the taste we wanted, so we created our own,” explains Murray Kinsella, Managing Director of Alexandra Fine Foods, the family owned business behind the O’Nuts brand. “They are completely different to anything else in New Zealand, with a wonderful texture and combination of natural flavours.”

“They make the ideal match for a cold beer or glass of wine so would be great for Friday drinks or get-togethers with friends and family, as well being a satisfying pre-dinner nibble during the festive period,” adds Murray. “They are also the perfect size to slip into a stocking if you know someone who would appreciate a gourmet savoury treat!”
