This scrumptious and fun meal is all about value and deliciousness! Healthy with chicken and heaps of fresh vegetables and the kids will love eating from a stick. Add a creamy macaroni cheese and you’ve got the perfect budget-busting meal.
500g skinless chicken breast fillet, cubed
1 red capsicum, chopped
1 cup button mushrooms, halved
1 zucchini or courgette, cut into chunks
1 red onion, quartered
8 wooden skewers, soaked in cold water
1 cup reduced fat milk
2/3 cup water
1 teaspoon Flora Salt Reduced Spread
1 x packet Continental Macaroni Cheese
Prep: 15 minutes
Cooking: 20 minutes
1. Thread chicken, capsicum, mushrooms, onion and zucchini onto skewers to make 8 kebabs.
2. Spray with oil and barbecue or grill until cooked through.
3. Meanwhile, bring milk, water and spread to the boil. Add Macaroni pack contents and stir until boiling, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until sauce thickens and pasta is cooked.
Use cherry tomatoes, green capsicum, quartered red onions, other meat or seafood and sizzle on the BBQ on metal skewers as shown. Experiment with food on the stick what your family loves.
