Aotearoa’s hottest artists, DJs, fashionistas and influencers celebrated the best of New Zealand’s music and lifestyle at the first annual Georgie Awards last night in Auckland.
Inaugural winners of the Georgie trophy included Kiwi international pop superstar Lorde, whose Montell2099 & SACHI remix of Green light took out the award for Burger Fuel Banger of the Year; iconic street wear label Huffer was named Fashion Quarterly’s Hottest NZ Designer; and soulful House and Dance duo Nice ‘n’ Urlich’s 21-year partnership was honoured with the George FM Lifetime Achievement Award.
Nominees were chosen after a three-week submission period and Georgie Award winners were selected by public vote. The inaugural Georgie Award winners are:

The event, hosted by George FM Breakfast’s Kara Rickard and Tammy Davis, was held at Auckland’s Galatos Bar and included live performances from Kings, Theia, Baynk ft Nika as well as DJ sets from Dan Aux, General Lee, Jay Bulletproof, Benny Boy, Erika Amoore, Bavhu, Hamish & Rangi, Ultan Burke, Sammie Whitaker.
