Kea Cookies is celebrating three decades trailblazing the free from and vegan food categories.
Baking traditional homemade style cookies free from gluten, wheat, dairy, and egg in New Zealand since 1988, Kea Cookies has been a pioneer of the free from and vegan food categories in the country. The recipe for their longevity and success is great ingredients, relentless quality control, and amazing flavours that make it hard to believe they are gluten, wheat, dairy, and egg free.
Kea Cookies has always been a family business, and since 2014 it became owned and operated by John Xanthopol and Andrew Hardie, father and son-in-law. John and Andrew are involved in all processes from new product development to packing, and monitor every single batch to guarantee the best quality and fresh-made feel.
To provide the yummiest and safest cookies to those allergic to gluten, dairy and eggs, or who have embarked on a vegan journey, Kea Cookies follows a strict safety programme with annual audits, and have all the certifications required. The range is approved by Coeliac New Zealand and has the Crossed Grain logo in the packaging, the symbol that identifies products with gluten free certification worldwide. Kea Cookies carefully chooses its suppliers, making sure they have all the relevant food safety programmes and certification.
Cookies come in 10 flavours, all suitable for vegans: Lemon Coconut, Choc Chip, Double Choc Chip, Macadamia, Hokey Pokey, Gingernut, Vanilla, Almond, Peanut Brownie and Coconut. They are great for kids’ lunch boxes, to pair with a cup of tea, crumble over ice cream, or even use as a cheesecake base.
