Diners at Queenstown’s popular destination Sherwood are in for a treat this July with a special menu designed for those either participating in Dry July or wanting to try something a little different.

The award-winning restaurant has partnered with Seedlip – the world’s first non-alcoholic spirit to produce a non-alcoholic pairing menu designed by chef Kane Bambery and bar manager Anna Poole.

The four course Seedlip tasting is consistent with its high culinary values – delivering produce that is grown from its own kitchen garden and championing seasonal southern ingredients.

Expect a veritable host of dishes from ‘Bruce’s carrots’ harvested the same day from the Sherwood garden, served alongside a shot of house made rhubarb, ginger and cinnamon kombucha. To follow, minced titi on toasted brioche served with Garden Seedlip, green cold pressed juice, celery tonic and mint.

Spiced Seedlip, house made tamarillo and ginger syrup, fresh ginger and black pepper

For the main course, wild deer served with moi moi potatoes, Sherwood currants and berries served with Spiced Seedlip, house made tamarillo and ginger syrup, fresh ginger and black pepper. To finish, Arrowtown walnut, collected apple and yam pie served alongside Spiced Seedlip with house made rhubarb & cinnamon jam and cold pressed apple.

Hayley Scott, GM of Food & Beverage at Sherwood says the ethos and focus is on healthier lifestyles with a unique beverage programme including a 100% natural wine list and a house bottling programme that also extends to their spirits.

“We are very excited to showcase what we do here at Sherwood beside Seedlip, we infuse a lot of our own spirits,  house ferments and preserves feature in many of our cocktails as well as cold press juices from our own garden produce, that is why the ethos behind Seedlip fits so well with Sherwood.

Sherwood x Seedlip non-alcoholic pairing menu is available 1 – 31 July for $95 per person. Seedlip cocktails are also available to purchase from the drinks menu.
