Gourmet pie brand I Love Pies launched a new range of vegan pies. Available in the
freezer section, the range uses a pastry made from coconut oil. It includes three varieties;
individual serves of a Spiced Chickpea and Spinach Pie (210g), and a Lentil Mince and
Cheese Pie (190g), along with a convenient pack of six vegan mini party pies (280g) which
also have the lentil and cheese filling.

“We’ve recently seen an increase in consumers adopting a plant-based diet that doesn’t
include meat or dairy products. Some have converted to full time veganism, and others are
simply choosing to avoid eating food made from animal products once or twice a week,”
says Jessie Stanley, co-founder of I Love Food Co.

“As an innovative food brand, we respond to consumer trends by developing products that
reflect what shoppers are looking for. We’ve always used top quality ingredients in our products, and these vegan pies are no different. This means using quality coconut oil in the pastry, and making beautiful fillings that are both tasty and satisfying.”

The lentil mince and cheese variety is a vegan take on I Love Pies’ most popular pie and a
favourite with kiwis. The cheese is of course dairy-free. The other flavour is a delicately spiced filling of tender spinach and chickpeas.

“We don’t believe anyone should miss out on a delicious pie, so along with our gluten free
pies, also available in the freezer section, everyone is catered for. The vegan party pies are
also great to have on hand for hosting guests with a range of dietary requirements,” says Ms Stanley.

No I Love Pies products contain any MSG, palm oil, or artificial flavours or colours. The vegan range of pies is available in select supermarkets and gourmet food stores in the freezer section. RRP $4.99 and $7.49 (party pies)
