Calling all foodies and fashionistas. Just when you thought theatrical dining couldn’t get any more exciting, Asahi’s pop-up restaurant, AKAI DOA will up the ante by launching a fusion of modern Japanese cuisine and fashion as installation art.
For the first time ever, renowned Chef Yukio Ozeki from Azabu is teaming up with Marc Moore from Stolen Girlfriends Club, to create an Asahi AKAI DOA menu inspired by Stolen Girlfriends Club’s infamous jewellery line.
Stolen Girlfriend’s Club Creative Director Marc Moore says, “We’re creating a unique installation art dining experience inspired by the most iconic pieces in our jewellery line. We’ve turned four of our favourites pieces into larger than life art installations at 85 times the scale of the original. It’ll be a completely surreal and immersive dining experience unlike anything you’ve ever experienced.”
Available for an extremely limited time, the Stolen Girlfriends Club dining experience will take place over one weekend between Thursday 30th May and Saturday 1st June, at AKAI DOA in the Las Vegas Club on K-road.
Asahi Super Dry Marketing Manager Stephanie Scard says, “Since Asahi AKAI DOA re-opened in April it has been disrupting the Auckland dining scene. Chef Yukio Ozeki is delivering his most innovative menus yet amidst a series of theatrical dining experiences. From immersive lighting installations by award-winning artist, Angus Muir to curated jewellery installation art by Stolen Girlfriends Club, diners will experience an element of mystery and intrigue as soon as they walk through AKAI DOA’S red door.”
