Foodbanks rely on regular donations to continue helping people in need.
The Foodbank Project is New Zealand’s only online foodbank, topping up The Salvation Army’s local foodbanks around the country. It’s really cool – you can choose what to donate, what region to donate it to and track its journey. You can choose individual items or a pre-set bundle and you can see what’s needed in each region e.g. nappies in Hamilton, chicken in Whangarei etc.
This year, you can play your part in the Countdown Food Rescue Winter Appeal by donating online or by dropping off a food donation in specially marked purple bins at Countdown stores nationwide. Winter bundles are available to donate online at $20 or $40 and are made up of a selection of fresh food such as mince, potatoes and cheese, versatile food such as spaghetti and necessary hygiene items.
