Known for creating premium red wines with backbone, I AM GEORGE has introduced a new, robust Cabernet Sauvignon to New Zealand.
The I AM GEORGE Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 is a wine made for those who like good wine and joins the existing a Shiraz 2016, Shiraz Cabernet 2016 and Cabernet Merlot 2015.
Released in New Zealand in 2018, I AM GEORGE was launched in response to consumers wanting something new and different in a traditionally conventional sector.
Steve Meyer, Chief Winemaker says the bold, new Cabernet Sauvignon continues to tell his story.
“With its deep hues, full-bodied palate and spice notes the Cabernet Sauvignon unapologetically adds another dimension to our distinctive range of reds, helping the legacy of George Wyndham live on.
“The wine is a careful selection of grapes from South Australia’s Limestone Coast, with bright, blackcurrant fruit character it is a wine to be enjoyed by those with a hunger for something remarkable,” he says.
The I AM GEORGE Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 reflects the Limestone Coast which is renowned for making brilliant expressions of both Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon; the climatic and viticultural variation across the regions results in wines of outstanding freshness, with reds in particular showcasing a core of dark fruits and density of tannin.
