Positioned on the 20th floor of the Four Points by Sheraton hotel on Queen Street, The Churchill offers panoramic views of the city, stylish surroundings and a carefully curated beverage selection sure to satisfy the most discerning drinker.

A glamourous space celebrating the beverage traditions of the 1920s, The Churchill showcases the two most popular drinks of the age – gin and champagne.

The favoured tipple of the great Sir Winston Churchill and author of The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald, choose from more than 160 gins, handpicked from around the world and closer to home.

Create a gin and tonic that’s all your own with the 10/10/10 menu. Selecting from 10 varieties of gin, 10 artisan tonics and mixers and 10 flavouring profiles, top picks from the bar staff include Hayman’s Sloe gin with East Imperial Grapefruit tonic and grapefruit and peppercorns, and Saffron gin with East Imperial Yuzu tonic, lemon and juniper berries.

Other excellent choices include Glenalough Rose gin with Fever Tree Elderflower tonic, mint and cucumber, and Malfy Arancia Blood Orange gin with Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic, dehydrated orange and coriander seeds. Personalised to your taste preferences, settle on your favourite mix and the bar staff will be sure to note it down for next time.

If gin’s not your thing, The Churchill also favours bubbles, with Sir Winston Churchill’s favourite Pol Roger taking pride of place on the champagne trolley.

Choose from a seasonal bar menu with snacks like gin cured pork scratchings and spiced heirloom tomato salsa and Clevedon coast oysters with signature salt, lemon, shallot and apple vinegar.

With flavours and dishes designed to complement The Churchill’s beverage offerings, there’s also Ora King salmon tartare with salted cucumber, avocado labneh and sumac crisps; handpicked 55 day aged beef eye fillet tataki with shitake, edamame, soy mayo and picked daikon; braised Te Mana lamb shoulder hotdog with Scapegrace gin gastrique; and deconstructed pear and walnut tart with blackcurrant and coconut gelato.

Separate to the hotel, entry to The Churchill is on Queen Street, set within the façade that once belonged to the historic Queen’s Head Tavern. Catch the dedicated lift to the 20th floor and drink in the views, with balcony vistas from the Waitemata harbour to the Waitekere ranges. With Art Deco touches throughout, the Paul Izzard designed space features intimate seating areas and a private mezzanine that’s perfect for small groups.
