Since 2017, Black Pineapple has developed a booming business around bespoke drinks for premium events and festivals, serving more than 50,000 cocktails at live events last year.
Now they extend their premium drinks service to people at home with their all new cocktail kits, providing a ‘one stop shop’ for all your ‘at home’ bar needs.
The kits arrive on your doorstep fully loaded and pre-batched with fresh ingredients and garnishes, along with premium accoutrements, with glassware by Spiegelau and professional barware to make great drinks from the comfort of your home. Kits include easy to follow instructions and for those who need extra assistance, an interactive QR code unlocks further content and exclusive video tutorials.
During lockdown, when the hospitality industry took a very big blow, CEO Frankie Walker further developed a longstanding idea to bring his service to the at-home market. What started as Facebook Live tutorials, grew into packaging his entire offering as a direct-to-consumer premium drinks service.
“It was always part of the business plan – we were just too busy with events to make real headway. We used lockdown as the opportunity to fully realise the new business opportunity to help people to make better drinks at home.
“During lockdown I started these Facebook live how-to videos and very quickly I had brands asking to collaborate. Before we knew it we had 150 people joining us to make cocktails live – further evidence that there was a real appetite for making good drinks at home.
“At Black Pineapple we carefully balance and mix your cocktails in advance so that all you have to do is pour, shake, garnish and look like a total pro.”
The Black Pineapple cocktail kits launch with three fresh cocktail box choices:
Classics, Black Pineapple Bangers & Espresso Martinis. Prices start at $59 for two people, allowing four fresh cocktails, with the choice of a weekly, fortnightly or monthly subscription. Initially available only in Auckland but will expand regions as demand for the service grows.
