Beef Steak in Oyster Sauce

Beef Steak in Oyster Sauce

Cut quality beef steak into bite-sized cubes to make this quick and casual family meal. You can dress the steak in any of your favourite steak sauces and serve with plenty of cooked vegetables. Here is a recipe for an oriental-feel steak meal.

Ingredients (serve 3-4)

2 good quality beef steaks (about 150g each)
Black pepper
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
Cooking oil
250g green beans

How to make

  1. Take steaks out of fridge and let them come to room temperature.
  2. Cut steaks in bite sized cubes. In a small bowl, mix oyster sauce and soy sauce.
  3. Take stalks off beans and tear them in halves. Blanch them in salted boiling water.
  4. Heat a little oil in a frying pan. Add steak cubes. When one side is cooked, turn them over. Continue to cook them until how you like your steak. Ground black pepper over steaks.
  5. Add sauce mixture to the frying pan and mix thoroughly.
  6. Serve with green beans.
Tip: sweet and sour sauce instead of oyster sauce makes another lovely dish. Mix 3 tablespoons each tomato sauce and white vinegar, 1 tablespoon brown sugar and 1 teaspoon soy sauce in a small bowl. Add to cooked steak and mix as step 5 above.
