Cocktail Party – Sangria

Be sure to serve this Sangria punch really cold and, if you’ve got the chance, make the ice cubes from fruit juice or wine so they won’t dilute the mixture.

Serves 12

SANGRIA RECIPE YOU NEED:

4 tablespoons sugar
125ml (1/2 cup) brandy
1 orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
1 lime, sliced
750ml bottle chilled red wine
375ml chilled orange juice
375ml chilled soda water (or bitter lemon)
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 tablespoons Cointreau or Triple Sec
To serve: ice cubes and mint sprigs

Dissolve sugar in brandy in a large pitcher. Add sliced citrus and let stand for at least 2 hours. Just before serving add remaining liquid ingredients. Serve over ice cubes in large wine glasses. Garnish each drink with a sprig of mint.
