Pork and Apple Cider Sausage Bake

Pork and Apple Cider Sausage Bake

The Pork and Apple Cider Sausage Bake is one of my favourite fast recipes. It is easy to make and if you had sausages the night before, you can use the leftovers for this recipe.

Serves 5-6

The Pork and Apple Cider Sausage Bake ingredients:

* 8 thick pork sausages
* 1 apple, cored and sliced
* 550g can Wattie’s Just Add Devilled Sausages Simmer Sauce (you can use any meat simmer sauce or perhaps make your own!)
* 1 cup apple cider or apple juice
* 500g pkt Wattie’s Frozen Duchesse Potatoes (any kind of potatoes will work here)

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Heat a non-stick frying pan and brown the sausages for 5-7 minutes. Remove from pan and slice the sausages then place into a medium casserole dish.
2. Add Wattie’s Just Add Devilled Sausages and cider to the frying pan. Mix together and bring to the boil, pour over the sausages in the casserole dish and layer over the sliced apple.
3. Place in the oven and bake for 30-40 minutes. Remove from the oven and increase oven heat to 200°C. Top the sausage bake with the Wattie’s Duchesse Potatoes and return the dish to the oven for a further 10 minutes until potatoes are cooked and golden. Serve with your favourite winter greens.
