The Best Apple Tart Ever
This apple tart recipe is really easy and deliciously divine. A never-flop New Zealand apple recipe. And you know what they say… An apple a day, keeps winter bugs at bay!
How to make The Best Ever Apple Tart:
Cream together:
¼ cup milk, 1 cup sugar, 3 Tablespoons softened butter and 3 eggs (one by one).
Then sift together:
1 cup plain flour, 1 large teaspoon baking powder and a pinch of salt.
Have ready:
3 New Zealand apples, peeled and sliced thinly (you can also opt to leave the apples unpeeled as I have here).
How to:
Mix dry ingredients with creamed ingredients, pour into a tart dish and add apple pieces in a twirly design – be creative!
Please note, the tart base is smooth, un-pastry like and will pour in. If using a tart tin instead of a glass tart dish, line with baking paper (as per image).
To cook:
Bake for 40 minutes at 160 degrees Celcius or until cakey sides of your apple tart are crisp, golden brown.
Syrup top:
1 tin condensed milk, ½ cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence.
At 15 minutes to go on the tart, place all condensed milk, sugar and essence into a pot on your stovetop and stir until sugar melts. Keep warm and pour over tart when it comes out of the oven as a glaze.
