Cream Cheese Icing
This classic cream cheese icing recipe is jazzed up with some orange zest and makes the perfect topping for our Orange poppy seed muffins.
- 50 g softened butter
- 100 g softened cream cheese
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 45 g icing sugar
- ½ tsp orange zest
Using a stand mixer or a hand held beater, mix all ingredients until glossy.
To ice your muffins, use a spatula or the back of a spoon or use a piping bag with a decorative nozzle for gorgeous designs.
Fresh tips:
- Take the butter and cream cheese out of the fridge the morning before you bake so they have time to soften.
- The icing can be made in advance but remember to take it out of the fridge when you start preparing your muffins ingredients so it has time to soften and is easy to spread.
