Walnut Tart
We’ve been trying to get our hands on this particular walnut tart recipe for some time. Walnuts are sooo good for you so help yourself to a little slice of heaven…
Serves 6-8
You Will Need:
500g sweet shortcrust pastry
75g brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 tablespoons runny honey
225g butter
225g chopped walnuts
Method:
Roll out pastry into loose bottomed tart tin
Prick pastry base with a fork
Place in freezer for 30 minutes
Preheat oven to 180 degrees
Place sugar, vanilla, honey, butter and walnuts in saucepan
Bring to boil & then boil for 2-3 minutes
Remove from heat & set aside to cool slightly
Line pastry case with baking paper & fill with baking beans/rice
Bake blind for 15 minutes
Reduce oven to 160 degrees
Remove weights and return to oven for 3-5 minutes
Spread filling into case & bake for 20-25 minutes (Or until bubbling)
Leave to cool in tin
