There are many possible variations of this bircher muesli recipe so experiment to create your favourite mix. Once you settle on a good combo, make a big mix of ingredients from which to scoop some out to soak each night. Organic or freshly-milled oats make a particularly creamy and delicious muesli.

How to make bircher muesli:
Before going to bed, assemble in a bowl (this serves 2):
2/3 cup whole grain rolled oats
2 Tablespoons sunflower seeds
10 raw almonds, whole or chopped
2 Tablespoons chopped dates or raisins
2 Tablespoons dried coconut
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Add about 2/3 cup water – just enough to cover everything.
Leave overnight.
In the morning add
one grated apple and juice of 1/2 a lemon.
Serve the muesli topped with: Natural yoghurt
Other chopped fresh fruit (eg. grapes, banana, apple, peaches)
Ground flaxseed or flaxseed oil
