Scalloped potatoes
There's nothing better than scalloped potatoes to add creamy goodness and a saucy side dish to a main meal.
Ingredients
- 1 can cream of chicken soup 420g
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 clove garlic crushed
- ½ tsp each of salt and pepper
- 1.2 kg potatoes sliced unpeeled
- 1 onion chopped
- ½ cup grated cheese
- ½ cup bread crumbs
Instructions
- Mix cream of chicken soup, milk, sour cream, crushed garlic and salt and pepper in a small saucepan and heat to combine. Set aside.
- Place and layer sliced, unpeeled potatoes and chopped onion in a lidded, oven-proof, greased baking dish. Pour creamy mixture over the top. Bake at 180 °C for 50 minutes, covered. Remove from oven. Sprinkle cheese and breadcrumbs over the top and return to oven for 20 minutes, uncovered. Cook until crisp and golden.
- Serve warm with fresh or dried herbs as desired.
