The seahorse – Taylors’ symbol of quality and commitment to sustainability
When Taylors was digging their first vineyard dam, they discovered fossilised seahorses, a remnant of an ancient inland sea. Today, on every one of Taylors wines proudly sits the unique seahorse emblem - Taylors symbol of sustainability.  As a family-owned wine company operating in both rural and urban settings for over 50 years, Taylors is committed to ensuring that they act in a responsible and sustainable manner.
The seahorse is also proudly featured on all Taylors Promised Land labels as a symbol of quality and their commitment to their partnership with Project Seahorse - a marine conservation project dedicated to saving seahorses, which are pivotal for helping to preserve marine life and save our oceans for future generations.
Pioneering research by Project Seahorse has identified that saving seahorses is about more than just looking at the species in isolation. Setting up marine protected areas, reining in negative fishing practices, and regulating wildlife trade can also support thousands of other marine species.
For every bottle of Taylors Promised Land purchased, wine lovers can help to support Taylors ‘promise to the seas’ and their campaign to ‘Unscrew the Ocean’ in efforts to protect marine habitats around the world.
Justin Taylor, third-generation family member, Company Director, and Global Key Accounts Manager, said: “We’re thrilled to introduce Taylors Promised Land Chardonnay and Rosé to the New Zealand market.  In addition to providing wine lovers with a fabulous wine at a great price point, our Promised Land range of wines help to support our sustainability efforts with our partners at Project Seahorse. Great wine for an amazing cause – a win on all fronts.”
Taylors’ winemakers take great care to ensure that their wines are lively and approachable, while bringing out their finest expressions – whether it’s a crisp, refreshing white, or a seductively smooth red.
