Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of Eye Fillet or Sirloin steak 3cm thick (approx. 200-250g per person)
  • 1 tbsp rice bran oil
  • flaky sea salt
  • ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Bring steaks out of the fridge at least an hour before you want to use them. A good steak is always cooked at room temperature.
  • Preheat grill or BBQ to high (approx. 200-220°C). Dress steaks with oil, salt and pepper and rub in well. Place on heat - remember the golden rule and only turn your steak once!
  • For rare steaks, cook 4 minutes one side, turn and cook 3 minutes on the other.
  • For medium steaks, cook 5-6 minutes one side, turn and cook 4 minutes on the other.
  • For well-done steaks, cook 6-8 minutess one side, turn and cook 4 minutes on the other.
  • (To find out exactly how your steak should feel to the touch, watch the video. It's so easy!)
  • Remove from heat and rest steaks for at least 5 minutes before serving.
