Funny how everyone has differing porridge tastes. This porridge recipe is easy, fast and delicious. So good for you too. The power of oats….
Serves 1
You’ll need:
1/4 cup of Rolled Oats
2 dessert spoons of oat bran
Liberally shaking of salt from saltpig
Milk (or Rice Dream Rice Milk for dairy-free)
Water, amount judged by eye
How to:
Microwave oats and 1/2 cup water for 4 minutes on High.
The amount of water has to be enough so the porridge does not go stodgy.
Add Calcitrim or trim, high calcium milk, and microwave for another minute.
Check consistency. If still runny, add 30 seconds on the microwave, stir. Check again. Add 30 seconds if need be.
To be perfect, your porridge is creamy yet still a bit ‘nutty’.
After cooling slightly, sprinkle on your fat, juicy raisins. Add honey, yoghurt, almonds, cream, brown sugar or whatever takes your fancy. Banana is good!
