We know you’ll love this Breakfast Burrito recipe because it’s like, sooooo American! And what’s not to like? Bacon, Egg, Cheese, Chilli Sauce and Mayo? Breakfast fit for a king – on Independence Day to boot.
Serves 1
Breakfast Burrito Ingredients (this makes 1 burrito so double or triple as you require for the family):
1 flour tortilla
2 slices of Bacon
1 egg
Grated cheese
1 tsp chopped onion
Sweet Chilli sauce to taste
Dash of Edmonds Whole Egg Mayonnaise
Salt and Pepper to taste
In a pan, fry your bacon and put aside to drain on paper towels. Crack the egg into the pan that was used to cook the bacon. Break the yolk and stir a little. Sprinkle with the onion and salt and pepper. Flip the egg and fry until firm. Line the centre of your warm flour tortilla with grated cheese, then place the hot fried egg on top of the cheese. Spoon the chile/hot sauce on top of the egg and top with bacon. Fold the sides of the tortilla over and roll to make a burrito. Wrap in foil and finish it off by warming it in the oven.
Possible additions: lean mince, chorizo, ham, sausage, mushrooms, avocado or pretty much anything you would put in an ordinary omelette.
Serve with a dash of mayonnaise, extra grated cheese and Fresh In The Kitchen’s homemade Salsa or Hollandaise. See our recipes above.
