Cheese Scones fresh ideas
Savoury scones are a perfect morning tea snack to enjoy with a cuppa. They also work well to curb that sugar craving and tiredness at work.

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ? cup milk
  • ½ cup cheese
  • 1 clove garlic minced


  • Preheat oven to 220°C.
  • Sift dry ingredients and then rub in butter and garlic until mixture is like breadcrumbs, then add cheese.
  • Make a pit in the middle of the mixture and add milk mixing quickly.
  • Turn out dough and knead lightly and gently, careful not to over-knead.
  • Roll out until dough is 2cm thick and cut into 6 wedges, or squares.
  • Place on greased tray and brush with milk and sprinkle with a little cheese.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes.
