Savoury Scones

There is nothing better than fresh savoury scones in the morning over a hot cup of coffee.

What you Need:
2 c of flour
2 tsp of baking powder
1/2 tsp of salt
3 Tbsp of butter
1/2 c of grated cheese
2 slices of ham – roughly chopped
1/4 c of oil packed sundries tomatoes – finely chopped
1 egg – beaten
3/4 c of half and half or milk (more or less) + 2 tbsp for glazing
2 tbsp of sesame seeds

Method:
Heat oven to 190?C.
Place a sheet of baking paper on a tray.
In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Rub in butter lightly into the flour with finger tips until mixtures resembles breadcrumbs.
Add cheese, ham and sundries tomatoes and mix well.
Make a well in the centre of the flour and add in egg and then the milk slowly. Just enough for the mixture to come together.
Mix well until all mixture is combined
Turn the mixture out on a lightly floured cutting board and knead briefly with hands.
Press the dough to form 3cm and cut the dough with a round cookie cutter or with the rim of a glass.
Place on baking sheet and brush the top with some milk and sprinkle with some sesame seeds.
Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until lightly brown.
Serve warm with spread of choice.
