Cheese Scones
Savoury scones are a perfect morning tea snack to enjoy with a cuppa. They also work well to curb that sugar craving and tiredness at work.
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp butter
- ? cup milk
- ½ cup cheese
- 1 clove garlic minced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 220°C.
- Sift dry ingredients and then rub in butter and garlic until mixture is like breadcrumbs, then add cheese.
- Make a pit in the middle of the mixture and add milk mixing quickly.
- Turn out dough and knead lightly and gently, careful not to over-knead.
- Roll out until dough is 2cm thick and cut into 6 wedges, or squares.
- Place on greased tray and brush with milk and sprinkle with a little cheese.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes.
