Chicken Filo Parcels
Chicken Filo parcels are a delicious family meal that smells amazing when cooking. The great thing about this chicken recipe is that you can add your own ingredients according to how you feel.
Ingredients
- 300 g smoked chicken
- 4 rashers bacon cooked and chopped
- 1 onion sliced thinly
- ½ cup cheddar cheese grated
- 4 mushrooms sliced
- 18 filo pastries
- butter melted
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 190°C.
- In a bowl, mix together chicken, cheese, bacon, mushrooms and onion.
- Place a sheet of filo pastry on a chopping board. Brush or spray lightly with oil or melted butter. Top with 2 more sheets of filo, brushing between each sheet with the oil or melted butter.
- Place a spoonful of the mixture at the top of the filo.
- Fold the sides of the filo over and rollup to securely enclose the filling. Brush the top with butter/oil. Repeat with remaining filo and filling to make 6 parcels.
- Bake at 190°C for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve with a green salad.
Notes
You can use different combinations of the fillings: think spinach, pine nuts, pumpkin, cranberry, salmon, feta, kumara.
