If you have time, it’s nice to have a slow cooker simmering away while you catch up on all things family. This low-maintenance recipe is healthy, filling and tasty. Plus it can be served in fun, kid-friendly ways on nachos.
Serves 4
910 g ground beef
half an onion, chopped
2 g ground black pepper
3 g garlic salt
590 ml tomato sauce
224 g salsa
30 g chili seasoning mix
1 can light red kidney beans
1 can dark red kidney beans
In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the ground beef and the onion and saute for 10 minutes, or until meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain grease, if desired.
Add the ground black pepper, garlic salt, tomato sauce, salsa, chili seasoning mix and kidney beans. Mix well, reduce heat to low and simmer for at least an hour.
