Kasundi Smashburger Sliders

These smashburger sliders are ideal for laid-back home gatherings. They can be prepared swiftly using common freezer and pantry items such as frozen premium meatballs, sliced cheese, gherkins, and a jar of Katsundi sauce.

  • Heat a cast iron or non-stick pan over medium heat. Place 3-4 meatballs in the pan (don’t crowd the pan) and use a mug or can to press the meatballs flat. You want untidy edges on the patties - these become deliciously crunchy bits when they are cooked. Cook for 7-8 minutes, turning once during cooking.
  • Split the slider buns and toast the cut sides lightly.
  • Lay the bottom halves of the slider buns on a board and spread with kasundi sauce. Top with a meatball patty, a slice of cheese, a slice of gherkin, and then another meatball patty. Drizzle some more kasundi sauce over the patty and finish with the top of the slider bun.

Notes

Use bamboo skewers on the assembled sliders to keep them from falling apart.
