Seeded pizza base
Why not make a healthy pizza base using seeds and oats? The texture is fantastic! We use wholemeal spelt flour but you can experiment with your favourite flavours.
Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups spelt or wheat flour plus extra for work surface
- 1 cup warm water plus extra as needed
- 2 tsp 1 sachet dried active yeast
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp Olivado extra virgin olive oil
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ⅓ cup FreshLife pumpkin seeds
- ⅓ cup FreshLife sunflower seeds
Instructions
- In a small jug or bowl dissolve yeast in warm water. Add honey and let sit for 5 minutes. Add salt and olive oil and stir to combine.
- Add flour, oats and seeds and knead to a large bowl and pour in yeast mix. Knead in the bowl, adding water if necessary (you’ll want the dough a little wet as the oats will swell).
- Turn dough out onto a floured work surface and knead for a few minutes. Place dough in a large oiled bowl, cover with a tea towel and leave to rise for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
