Apple Crumble
Oooh yes, apple crumble is to New Zealanders, what apple pie is to Americans. This apple crumble recipe is made with my fave apples, Granny Smith and is simple and scrumptious.
Ingredients
- 1 kg granny smith apples peeled, cored & sliced
- 150 g caster sugar
- 1 tbsp plain flour
- 1 tbsp Ground cinnamon
- ½ cup water
- 80 g Harraways Muesli Base Oats and Barley flakes with a hint of honey
- 1 cup plain flour
- 225 g dark brown soft sugar
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp Baking soda
- 125 g butter melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Place the sliced apples in a 23x33cm baking dish. Mix the caster sugar, 1 tablespoon flour and ground cinnamon together and sprinkle over sliced apples. Pour water evenly over it all.
- Combine the muesli base, the remaining flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter. Crumble evenly over the apple mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes. Serve with ice cream or cream, or both!
