Apple Crumble

Oooh yes, apple crumble is to New Zealanders, what apple pie is to Americans. This apple crumble recipe is made with my fave apples, Granny Smith and is simple and scrumptious.

Apple Crumble
Serves: 10
•    1 kg Granny Smith apples – peeled, cored and sliced
•    150g caster sugar
•    1 tablespoon plain flour
•    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
•    1/2 cup (125ml) water
•    80g Harraways Muesli Base Oats and Barley flakes with a hint of honey
•    1 cup (125g) plain flour
•    225g dark brown soft sugar
•    1/4 teaspoon baking powder
•    1/4 teaspoon baking soda
•    125g butter, melted

How to make Apple Crumble:

Prep: 25 minutes | Cook: 45 minutes

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.

Place the sliced apples in a 23x33cm baking dish. Mix the caster sugar, 1 tablespoon flour and ground cinnamon together and sprinkle over sliced apples. Pour water evenly over it all.

Combine the muesli base, the remaining flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter. Crumble evenly over the apple mixture.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes. Serve with icecream or cream, or both!
