Cheesy burger melt with mushrooms
This quick & easy burger patty melt is totally moreish. We love the ultimate umami (savoury) combination of patties, cheese, onions, mushrooms and rye bread. Yum!
Ingredients
- 4 slices rye bread
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 red onion cut in half moons
- 100 g mushrooms sliced
- 4 Angel Bay Gourmet Beef & Cheese patties frozen
- 8 Yolo mozzarella slices 1 pack
- 4 tbsp garlic mayonnaise optional
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the barbecue to medium-high heat. Add the patties to the grill. Cook for 13-15 minutes, turning every 3-4 minutes, until fully cooked.
- Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the barbecue plate and add onion and mushrooms. Fry until well cooked, then season with salt. Set aside.
- Add the rye bread and fry until lightly toasted. Lay 2 mozzarella slices on top of each. Pop a lid on the bbq and cook for 30 seconds, until the cheese is melted.
- To assemble, place patties on a cheesy rye bread slice, slather garlic mayo, top with mushroom onion mix, then top with another cheesy melt. Serve whilst hot and deliciously melted.
