These wontons are bite-sized delights and work perfectly as an appetiser or as dainty party snacks.
To make cream cheese and crab wontons, you will need:
500g crab meat
1/2 pottle of cream cheese (solid is best)
1/4 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons chives
1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Small dish of water
Oil for frying
How to make cream cheese and crab wontons:
Mix the crab, cream cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, pepper and chives together. Taste and adjust seasonings to your taste.
Put a spoonful of mixture into each wonton shell. Use water to moisten the edges of the wonton and fold into money bags, or triangle shapes if you prefer.
When ready to eat, fry in oil until browned on both sides. Deep-frying also gives great results for wontons.
Serve with your favourite sweet and sour dipping sauce.
TIP: Exchange the crab meat for mince or pork, and have a more saucy addition instead of the cream cheese.
