French Toast with Bacon and Maple Syrup
Let golden French Toast soak up the maple syrup and enjoy it with salty, crispy bacon. French Toast is the perfect breakfast in bed treat for someone extra special.
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 160 ml Lewis Road Creamery milk
- 3 tsp caster sugar
- Olivado Liquid Coconut Oil
- 4 thick slices of white bread brioche, sourdough or standard white will do!
- 4 Hellers streaky bacon rashers cooked
- Maple syrup to serve
Suggested toppings:
- fresh mint, grilled banana and toasted coconut
Instructions
- Lightly whisk eggs in a bowl. Add milk and sugar, and stir to combine.
- Warm coconut oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Dip bread in the egg mixture. Cook for 1-2 minutes each side or until golden.
- Put the French toast slices on serving plates and top with crisp bacon, grilled banana if desired and a sprig of mint. Serve with maple syrup.
- For that extra special brunch, served with toasted coconut. Or even a glass of champagne. Even serve up with some oven baked truss tomatoes for colour and health.
