Japanese style fried chicken
This fried chicken is perfect for a weekend rugby game! Chicken Karaage is great with beer, even when cold. Kids love these chicken pieces too.
Ingredients
2-3 chicken thighs –boneless skinless cut into bite size pieces
Marinade:
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sake ( or dry white wine )
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 small clove of garlic grated (optional)
Corn flour
Oil for deep frying
Method
- Mix ingredients for marinade.
- Marinade chicken pieces for 20 -30 minutes. Don’t leave too long or meat becomes tough.
- Put about a quarter cup of corn flour in a clean dry plastic bag. Pat dry chicken pieces with paper towel.
- Put chicken pieces in the plastic bag and shake the bag to coat chicken pieces with corn flour evenly.
- Deep fry the chicken in hot oil (180C) for 4-5 minutes until they are cooked and turn golden brown.
