Karaage chicken bao buns
Soft, fluffy bao buns filled with cool cucumber and tasty karaage chicken, all topped with lovely Japanese mayo. They're incredibly easy to make and are sure to be a hit with everyone!
Ingredients
- 1 box Waitoa karaage chicken
- 1 packet United Food Co. steamed bao buns
- 1 telegraph cucumber sliced in ribbons
- coriander
- Kewpie mayonnaise
- Black sesame seeds lightly toasted (optional)
- Red chilli sliced (optional)
Instructions
- Cook karaage chicken in the oven per packet instructions.
- Slice the cucumber in long ribbons using a vegetable peeler.
- When the chicken is nearly ready, steam bao buns following the packet instructions. Alternatively, cook in the microwave.
- Assembly: Open a bao bun. Fill with cucumber ribbons, then chicken karaage.
- Squirt with mayonnaise. Garnish with sesame seeds, chilli and coriander. Serve straight away!
