Plant-based Izakaya combo with nutty slaw

An Izakaya is a place to have a casual drink and unwind while you enjoy delicious bites of food. We feature two scrumptious plant based items, vegetable gyoza and plant-based tenders, with a fresh homemade slaw to create the same feel at home.

Ingredients
 
 

For the nutty Japanese slaw

  • ¼ green cabbage shredded
  • ½ carrots julienned
  • 1 spring onion sliced
  • ½ cup bean sprouts
  • ¼ cup fresh coriander leaves
  • ¼ cup Kewpie goma dressing
  • A handful FreshLife natural cashews lightly toasted

To serve

  • lemon wedges
  • fresh chillies sliced
  • dipping sauces such as soy sauce, chilli oil, sweet chilli sauce, mayonnaise

Instructions
 

  • Cook plant based tenders according to the box instructions.
  • Cook Japanese plant based gyoza following the packet instructions.
  • Nutty Japanese slaw: Mix all vegetables in a large bowl. Pour over the goma dressing and toss well. Scatter cashews on top.
  • Serve with lemon wedges, a few varieties of condiments and dipping sauces accompanied with your favourite drinks. Kanpai!
