The Australian Brand Award for New Product Innovation recognises innovative new products that offer a point of difference from their competitors. Recognition via this prestigious award provides further validation for the VGood company’s achievements in the research and development of healthy options that are accessible to more people.

Sally Breden, Founder and Managing Director of the VGood Company says,

“We are passionate about making healthy choices accessible to more people through a combination of great ingredients, delicious taste and an affordable price. Made with chickpeas VGood PeaNOT Butter smooth and crunchy range is an approachable alternative to nut-butters with a core focus on the taste and eating experience, suitable for nut-free lunchbox environments like schools and as a healthy alternative in the kitchen. With accessibility a priority, it is free of the 14 most common food allergens and is available at a price point in line with everyday peanut butters. As an Aussie start-up with big goals, it’s fantastic to be recognised by these awards and we are excited to bring more accessible health innovation to this space over the coming years.”

Personal experience with school aged children gave Sally an insight into the high consumer demand for time saving, no fuss lunchbox solutions, and the lack of good tasting, healthy and affordable options within the Spreads category. She identified a shortage of options that are both delicious and healthy, and suitable for use in nut-free environments.

VGood company launched PeaNOT Butters into Australia and New Zealand in January 2021.
VGood PeaNOT Butters are available as either smooth or crunchy, look, taste, and spread just like peanut butter, but they are completely nut free, made from chickpeas. They are suitable for use as a spread on toast, in a sandwich or on crackers, as well as offering versatility in the kitchen for healthy, nut-free, and vegan friendly baking, smoothies, satay sauce and more. Made with chickpeas, PeaNOT Butter provides a source of plant-based protein, fibre, and over 20% of the RDI for iron for kids 8-13 years iron, with a low glycaemic index and less fat than standard peanut butter.  It is free from the 14 most common food allergens including peanuts, tree-nuts, dairy, gluten, and soy.

VGood PeaNOT Butters are available in New Zealand now at good supermarkets including Pak n Save and New World.
